DHHI is a large, key and backbone enterprise in heavy machinery industry and the key enterprise for manufacturing of new energy equipment, in China. It is the national high-and-new tech enterprise capable of finishing, casting, heat treatment of large workpiece as well as design, manufacture, erection, commissioning, final assembling and shipping with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic integration and engineering project contracting for major technical equipment, which take the lead in China. DHHI established a specialized base for development and manufacture of core component for wind turbine, lifting equipment for nuclear power plant and large ship crankshaft, which is of the largest scale and the most competitive in China, with the comprehensive operating quality ranking among the best in the heavy machinery industry over the years. DHHI has two wharves with a capacity of 5000dwt each and nearly 2400 sets of major equipment for production. It established the national-level technical center, the national technology research center for drive and control of wind turbine, the state-recognized laboratory for detection / calibration, overseas technical research & development center (in Germany), postdoctoral workstation. It has successively undertaken many tasks for localized development and manufacture of major equipment, e.g. large ship crankshaft, cranes for nuclear power plant, drive and control systems for wind turbine, etc. DHHI has held over 700 patents , with the products spreading over in 95 countries and regions globally, and many products and technologies have reached the advanced level of the world.

DHHI is mainly dedicated to supply packaged technical equipment, product and service with high and new technical content to the basic industries of national economy such as metallurgy, port, energy, mining, engineering, transportation, aviation & aerospace, shipbuilding, etc. and has currently had nine major products, i.e. metallurgical machinery, lifting machinery, bulk material handling machinery, port machinery, energy sources machinery, drive and control systems, marine components, engineering machinery, offshore engineering machinery, etc. The scope of business includes design, manufacture, erection and commissioning of mechanical equipment; supply of spare parts and accessories; fabrication of metal product and metal structure; design and manufacture of tool, die and mould; surface treatment and heat treatment of metal; manufacture and machining of components for mechanical and electrical equipment; design, manufacture, erection, rebuilding and maintenance of special equipment for lifting machinery; design and manufacture of pressure vessel; processing and fabrication of steel casting, iron casting, copper casting, aluminium casting, forging; design, manufacture, erection and commissioning of steel ingot casting equipment, steel rolling equipment, dustproof equipment; development of technological process and material technology for casting; fabrication of moulded material; import and export of cargo and technology; real estate development, storage, business trading; engineering project contracting; lease of mechanical and electrical equipment; technical development and consultation; computer application; building construction; installation of mechanical and electrical equipment; general freight; domestic shipping agency; international maritime, land and air transport agency (incl. customs declaration, Inspection declaration), manual handling; goods packing (special business of subsidiary is limited within permissible scope.) DHHI holds more than 30 subsidiaries, branch companies, joint-stock companies, etc. and adopts the “combined-fleet-type” development and management mode. It set up a scientific, simple, efficient and practical internal management and control system and is one of the enterprises which are initially certificated by the State as having combined informatization with industralization. It created an informatization management platform which fully supports the operation of its core business and established the core corporate value of “Practicalness and Innovation, First-class in the World” At present, DHHI has predominant advantage in traditional leading products (e.g. lifting machinery, bulk material handling machinery, etc.) and participates in drafting of some industrial standards. Meanwhile, in pursuance of the development trend and principle of “green, energy saving, environmental protection, efficiency”, DHHI is endeavoring to seek new profit-making business and actively exploiting the new fields such as new energy equipment, energy-saving and environmental-protection equipment, military-purpose equipment, etc., to create a new product structure with complementary advantages and strategic coordination, with the traditional leading products as the basis of development, with the growth driven by growth-type products and capital operation and with the new products and modern services as the new source of profit making.
