First, unique geographic strength. Nanjing Port is located on the terminal of B-level navigating zone of the Yangtze River, which is the destination where ten thousand tons seagoing vessel goes into river from sea as wells as the significant port of connecting the Yangtze River inland water transportation with the marine transportation. The port enjoys the important pivotal status in river-to-sea transportation of strategic goods such as energy, raw material in the Yangtze River Delta and the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Second, comprehensive hub function. A panorama of five mode of transportation, i.e. road, railway, water, air way and pipeline, is provided. Waterway connects ocean externally while connects internally Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal as well as various tributaries; railway thereof connects with the national railway network via railway mainline of Beijing-Shanghai, Nanjing-Wuhu, Nanjing-Xi’an, Nanjing-Qidong etc.; for road, a convenient and clear highway road network is formed by 10 highway roads such as Nanjing-Shanghai, Nanjing-Hangzhou, Nanjing-Hefei, Nanjing- Ma’anshan, Nanjing-Luoyang etc., radiating to Jiangsu Province and surrounding provinces and cities. Third, rapid development of hinterland economy. Nanjing is the important manufacturing base of steel & iron, chemicals, electronics and automobile industry. Hefei, Chuzhou, Wuhu, Ma’anshan, Zhenjiang, Yangzhou and the like industrial cities are distributed in the direct hinterland of Nanjing metropolitan area and Wanjiang Economic Belt, where large-scale petrochemical, metallurgical and power companies such as Jingling Petrochemical Company, Yangzi Petrochemical Company, Huaneng Power Plant are located. Fourth, potential growth of zone-port. The main ports of the Company are supported by National-level, Provincial-level development zone such as Nanjing Economic & Technical Development Zone, Yangzhou Chemical Industrial Zone etc. As Longtan Comprehensive Bonded Zone was put into service, the port-surrounding industry is gradually growing into the cluster development pattern of “Port-Zone-Industrial Chain”.

Nanjing Port Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) was formed in September 2001, mainly formed from the Fifth Company and the Sixth Company whose main business is liquid bulk cargo owned by former Nanjing Port Administration Bureau, and went public in Shenzhen Stock Exchange in March 2005 (stock abbreviation “Nanjing Port” with stock code “002040”). Two major business segments-liquid bulk cargo and container have been formed since the completion of major assets restructuring of Nanjing Port Longtan Container Co., Ltd. in November 2016. Liquid Bulk Cargo Segment: mainly composed of two operation ports- Qixia Port and Yizheng Port. The Ports cover the total water front of more than 5,500m and about 500,000㎡ area, enjoying the annual handling capacity of 30,000,000 tons. Qixia Port is equipped with 2 lightering anchorages for seagoing vessel, where lightering anchorage operation of sea-to-river crude oil is carried out; Yizheng Port possesses 7 liquid chemical berths, 6 of which are above 10,000-ton level enjoying the max. berthing capability of 80,000 tons. The port owns various storage tank farms for crude oil, refined oil and chemicals, totaling 48 tanks with the total volume of 400,000 m³. Container Segment: Longtan Port is located in Longtan Water Channel, Nanjing Section of the Yangtze River, where the constant water depth of dock is 12.5m while the max. water depth is 14.5m. At present, the total water front is 2,310m, the formed rear land reaches more than 2.33 million m2, and the site area is more than 0.6 million m2. There are 5 berths of 30,000 tons level, 3 berths of 25,000 tons level and 2 berths of thousand tons level (all the hydraulic structure is designed based on berthing 50,000 tons container vessel). Currently, the port boasts all kinds of lines such as near-sea shipping line, direct domestic line between river and sea, feeder service of foreign trade etc., gradually becoming the significant regional container hub port of middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
